How do I properly burn my candle to get the longest life/safest burn?
It’s very important to practice safe burning when dealing with an open flame! Additionally, proper candle care can extend the burn life of your candle and keep it looking and smelling fresh.
- Trim your candle wick 1/4” before lighting to ensure a clean and even burn.
- Make sure to let the wax pool melt completely to the edge of the jar every burn to avoid tunneling. (This can take longer on the first burn.)
- Keep burn time under 4 hours to avoid wick popping and large, unstable flames.
- Never touch or move a burning candle.
- Always keep the candle within your sight and out of reach of children or pets. If you are going to leave the room, be sure to first blow out all candles.
- Extinguish your flame with a candle snuffer to prevent hot wax from splattering, minimize soot on the jar, and debris in the wax.
- If you have a candle with a lid, you can use it between burns or when stored away to keep the wax free of dust & the scent fresh!
